just a writing tool

i wanted to take the time to shed light on a new appreciation i have for a friend of mine. i had the awesome chance to hang out with him for a few days and after it ended i realized what a great friend i really had. it started with me and him dating and although we weren’t meant to be together in that way, i gained an unforgettable friend. i have my best friends but he is one of a kind. he has never met a stranger and seeing all the people he has met in the new place is lives was such a treat. he has become friends with all kinds of walks of life. from homeless people, to the guy yelling bible quotes to you on a city street, the crazy cat lady, the hot dog vendor, the pet shop owner, the architect, the downtown painter, the kids doing chalk art, and all the way down to the people you cross everyday and never look at twice. i had a whole new appreciation for him. he was the most amazing and interesting person i knew and i wanted to hear all his stories. he is the kind of guy that would let me mom tag alone to a seether show and show her to rock out and be the guy to see a girl crying at a bar because her boyfriend stood her up and ask her to dance just so he could make her smile. he high fives most of the kids he meets and they love how he interacts with them. he is never judgmental to any person. he loves talking to anyone. he made me realize how i had always been wrong judging a book by its cover. he never had it easy in life and never got the breaks he deserved but he survived and never complained. he never hated anyone. he was always the guy that would date the girls you wouldn’t think he would. most would say he is built like a greek god and could be a model but he never seems to be aware of his looks. he always impressed me with how he dated the girls for the person they were and not how everyone saw them. you would think with him being an ex there would be bad blood but there isn’t at all. i loved hearing about the girl he said was the girl he could finally love. how he talked about her was something i learned to strive for when i look at possible relationships. he appreciated and respected her and loved her for her and i knew when the day came i wanted that. i hated how things ended up for him and i hate to see him miss someone that way he does but he earned so much more respect from me when he didn’t do what normal guys do and talk so badly about her. he never did, he talked so highly of her and was actually bothered by negative events in the aftermath of it all. i had never seen that before. i know if you ever opened up entirely she would see it differently. its almost impossible for some to deny you. so myles keep you head up high and know you are an amazing person.
